The Barrister seeks to provide a local forum at George Mason for examining conservative ideas, redefining the terms of legal debate, scrutinizing local, state, national and international policymaking through a brutally honest and sometimes irreverent voice.
The Barrister will offer a slice of everything from relevant school news, and in-depth analysis of legal issues, to opinion and satire, aiming to be hard-hitting but not at the expense of being honest and fair. The Barrister holds as a central precept that regardless of the issues, standards of good journalism should be universally observed. It is by following this tenet that The Barrister intends to improve the understanding of the precepts underlying American law, thereby, fostering the application of traditional legal principles.
